Hello Again

Sorry for the long delay in posting.  Been a little crazy the last few weeks.  Writing today from my bro's house in Jersey.  Gotta love the Thanksgiving Holiday.  A wonderful time to get together with family and renew old bonds that don't get the attention they warrant during day to day life.  We all watched the Syracuse game last night and were very disappointed with the outcome.  Still though we'll all being going to the Garden for the consolation game vs Washington.  Speaking of Cuse, what was up with that performance last night?  Flynn seemed flat to me.  Great effort out of Harris and some good things happened in the first half.   Gotta give some credit to Ohio St....they hit the big 3's when they were open...we couldn't.  Very impressed with OSU's big man.....he'll being playing in the NBA in the near future.  Bottom line with 'Cuse....you don't want to drop 2 in a row this week....a nice game is needed on Friday to ... General Update

Looks like I'll be in the Garden for the 'Cuse game next Friday night.....sure hope we beat Ohio St. on Wed and it's the NIT Finals at 7pm.  Next game tonight....great idea having a Friday night game at the Dome...the place should be rockin'!  On the polictical front, how convienient that Hillary and Arrogant Eliot both dropped their stance on drivers licenses for illegals on the same day....and very conviently right before last night's debate!  Seems too obvious to be a cooindence.  On the other side of the Republicrat ticket, it's great to see that Bush makes it a priority to secure our borders to the South...talk soon.

Sports Talk

Gotta love Cuse hoops off to a 2-0 start.  The freshman Flynne and Greene are looking great so far and Flynne has definitely got a flair for the dramatic.  For those who didn't realize it, he broke Melo's freshman debut scoring record in the first game.  The 2 extra games in the Garden next week will be a great experience for this young group.  Second, here we go again with NFL network.  The Thanksgiving night game between the Packers and Cowboys will only be shown on NFL networks.  They pulled this crap last year and it didn't set well with me.  Hey NFL, wake the hell up, don't screw over your loyal fanbase and not show game on network TV.  Remember, this is a time when family and friends are together and possibly the only day of football some families get together over the course of the season.  Newsflash NFL, you wouldn't be rolling in dough without your loyal fan base so do the right thing and show the damn game. ... Go Cuse!

Tonight starts the adventure!  Go 'Cuse hoops!  Watch out for Donte Green, this frosh has some serious talent.  Big keys early on will be estabishing the 3 headed scoring monster of Harris, Devo, and Green......if that happens, we'll be dangerous!

Drive Safely

Comments appreciated Sam....if only we can get away from "fast food news".  One of my intentions in this blog endeavor is to shine some light on stories that DO matter yet don't get covered....my tolerance for Brittany and OJ is gone.  Why don't we here about the Laredo's of the world, idiots who desacrate places of worship(again, if what happened in San Fran happened at any Temple or Mosque the country would have been in an uproar), the trevails and dangers of globalism??  THOSE STORIES DON'T SELL?  How do we know ahead of time what will sell anyway, and more importantly, it's not about the sales, it's about the news content if we're really talking legit journalism?  Money in pockets from ad sales should not corrupt legit reporting, and if it does as you suggest, that taints and corrupts the news by definition.  My point is there are stories that matter and stories that don't....seems pretty easy for me differentiate....why don't we here more of what matters? ... Laredo Blues

Heads up and FYI for anyone who doesn't know what they do not know....after all, our friendly neighborhood mass media doesn't have the time to spend on such  lame stories as this when we're all just dying to know when Brittany last flashed us and how wasted she got last night..........Laredo, TX.....bad, bad news.  Between it and it's sister city on the other side of the border Nuevo Laredo, 70 Americans have been kidnapped or disappeared within the last couple of years.  2 teenage girls were given to a Mexican drug lord as a gift.  Why say you?  Laredo is run by drugs lords and gangs and thugs and happens to be one of the biggest smuggling points of drugs and illegal aliens into our country.  Must not be that much of a story though if our liberal media ignores it.  Why is this?  Just wondering......

Super Bowl 41.5

Colts V. Pats tommorow.  Best rivalry in pro football these days.....should be a great game.  Gotta love the fact that both Peyton and Brady are class acts and worthy of being looked up to by kids.  Pro sports need more athletes of this quality.  Can't wait for the game!

America for Sale

Well, the first month of my blog hasn't been a raging success, but I'm happy with my content offering.  Where else will you find heated political discussion, strong opionions, some good debate, coverage of sports issues and some good musical commentary(along with my chearful disposition and tidings of good karma)?:0).....to the topic...what is up with the US economy?

Very week dollar, record high oil prices, a rapidly declining housing market, gold at an all time high(that should be an indicator of what the rich are doing for you estute friends and neighbors out there) and yet the stock market is hanging in there??????  Makes no sense to me....maybe it's the globalization of our economy....which I am on record as being a staunch opponent off.  Reason to disagree with the brainwashing we get from media and politicians on a daily basis??? ... A-Rod and Boras

Wow.....most arrogant move in the history of baseball(other than Rafy Palmiero lying about roids while testifying before Congress).  Game 4, Sox(can't even spell Socks right)about to win the Series and these jokers announce free-agency after sending a text and leaving a voicemail  for Yankees brass(for the record I think the Steinbrenners don't have all of their dogs barking).  Then they claim it's not about the money, but about the transition of the team.  DO THESE YO-YO'S THINK WE ARE ALL STUPID.  As a Yankee fan...good ridance to A-Rod...the least clutch and most overpaid Yankee of all time!

Bladerunner

Just like a mentioned earlier in the week on a response to a comment.....keep an eye out for big brother and the convience they may offer.  Bladerunner in Europe introduced a GPS equiped jacket for kids.  Call me old fashioned, but if you need to put a tracker on your kid you may need to rethink you're parenting skills.

forgot to mention

Yes, the Red Sox are the scurge of my existence right now......and with Joe Torre leaving the Yanks it's a dark time for Yankee fans.  Saturday night I went into the heart of the Lions Den.....watched game 6 with 3 militant Sox fans in their domain and recieved payback for all the torture I've subjected them to over the years............talk about a feeding frenzy...Yikes......by the way, Cuse hoops looks young and good this year......and there will be a Boeheim look alike contest on March Madness Eve......with all that "Boeheimness" on display in one evening, some good karma is bound to be seeded!!!!!!!

snooty patooty

First, before my issue of the day I've got another great lyric to post....again from Trey Anistasio from Phish(I know I'm on a real tear with Phish right now, but over time we'll mix in others)....."though you've rehearsed tommorow's verse, forgive me if I don't sing in your key".......from the tune NICU.....Trey's the man.....I'm starting to think he might be the best guitar player currently ingesting air.  Second, sorry I missed a couple days of posting.....sometimes in the land of Oz things get a little crazy.

I recent situation brought to my attention got me thinking.  Everybody thinks their better than somebody......the East side of town looks down on the West side....the weathly suburbanites look down on the city folk.....the city folk think the suburbanites are stuck up.......all non-country bumpkins look down on the bumpkins....the bumpkins think their pretty shit hot compared to folks that are really, really, really rural......the ultra rich feel superior to the wealthy... ... Middle School Birth Control

So kids 11-14 can get birth control pills without Mom and Dad knowing in a Maine Middle School?  Wait...was that 11 years old???? Huh? I mean is it really 11 years old?

One thing that's increasingly irritated me for about the last 4 years are all of the Viagra, Levitra ect...ads on TV that openly discuss sex and "4 hour erections".  Ever been watching with your 10 year old niece in the room?  Or perhaps 8 year old nephew?   Or any kid that doesn't need to be seeing ads like that?  It's a little awkward.  What kind of discussions does this spur for little Jimmy and his buddies or young Sally and her girlfriends at a sleepover?

Where do these drug companies get off putting those adds out at family viewing time and where do the networks who accept the add money get off approving it?  Oh wait, could it possible be all about the money(as opposed to right and wrong) IN THE SHALLOW END OF THE POOL? ... (more)
