Just a comment on corporate America and the Holidays.  Bosses, managers and owners think twice before making your employees work on days like Friday after Thanksgiving.  You may get the all imporant extra day of work, but I just think you'll get more in the long run if you let folks have some time to travel to see family this time of year.  Makes me sick to my stomach every time I hear "he/she has to work on Friday"......common now, we only live once and it's good spiritual and emotional upkeep for people to have the ability to go home for the Holidays.   Just my opinion.  Maybe I'll post later today.....enjoy your Turkey!

Time for my yearly rant on winter driving.  The first snowflakes have begun to fall in Central NY and it's time for the idiot drivers to make their presence felt.  People simply forget that normal driving rules don't apply when the snow comes, they forget how dangerous the conditons are the need for prudence and caution.  It just seems like every year at first snow you see people drive like idiots becuase they don't remember the danger level increases.  Please folks, go easy.....life won't end if it takes an extra 5 minutes to get where you are going....and consider the alternative....you can't do whatever was so important to rush to if you don't get there safely!

Very week dollar, record high oil prices, a rapidly declining housing market, gold at an all time high(that should be an indicator of what the rich are doing for you estute friends and neighbors out there) and yet the stock market is hanging in there??????  Makes no sense to me....maybe it's the globalization of our economy....which I am on record as being a staunch opponent off.  Reason to disagree with the brainwashing we get from media and politicians on a daily basis???........  WE DON'T HAVE THE CONTROL WE USED TO HAVE WITH OUR FISCAL AND MONETARY POLICIES.....like it or not we're in bed with a country that damn near relies on slave labor in China, the gangster mafioso style former remnants of the old USSR, Europe and India. 

Don't forget friends, China is buying lots and lots of our bonds and for those who have done some analysis, if and when they decide to sell(basically a tool for them to declar war on us financially)the price of bonds will plummet and the interest owed by our govt on the secondary market will not be a pretty sight.  I also can't help but mention here that miss Hillary pantsuit exposed herself as the double talking, flip flop and flailer that she is.  She's on record as supporting Spitzer's plan to grant illegals licenses......now Spitzer, there's a sellout for you...tough on corporate crime to get elected(I loved him then)and then sells out his state with this gargage illegal license plan.  over 70% of New Yorkers oppose this plan but he wants to ram it thru anyway...by some sort of executive order I guess.  Question Elliot.....why not submit legislation for your dumb idea and let the people speak and see this dumb proposal get shot down?.....Shallow politics.

Second, thank God the US Women's Soccer Team will be cutting loose coach Greg Ryan loose.  His decison to bench GK Hope Solo in the semi's against Brazil this past World Cup was simply one of the most horrible coaching moves of all time.  You don't bench a keeper coming into a game with 3 straight shutouts....obviously she's working well with her defense and doing something right between the pipes.  I am a passionate soccer fan and know a little something about the sport  practically having grow up on the sidelines of a great high school program my Dad coached....and then earned a defensive MVP in the nets myself senior year.  One of my fondest memories.  Anyways, Hope Solo is an awesome keeper, not to mention beautiful, intelligent and free-spirited.  I will officially change my "fantasy" postion tonight....for 10 years I've said if I could marry anyone it would be Sheryl Crow....now it's Hope Solo!  Congrats Hope, I officially pine for you(what an honor...yeah right .

Finally, a little political commentary.  What's up with the power meetings in the Middle East?  First Putin visits Mahmoud the freak in Iran(despite an exposed assasination plot against Putin)then Israeli President Omert(I hope I"m spelling it right, I admire the man)makes a surprise visit to Putin in Russia.  That little exchange of visits pop up on anyone else's radar?  Hopefully Israel is making it clear that they won't wait for the evidence of a mushroom cloud before they take action against the biggest douchebag in the world....Mahmoud the freak.  Saw a documentary on the Israeli preemtive strike on Iraq in 1981(or 82, pretty sure it was 81).  Gotta say, one of the ballsiest political and military moves of our generation, and well deserved by Iraq at that.

Finally, God Bless the poor souls dispaced by this terrible forest fire tragedy outwest.  If indeed arson is involved, may the guilty bastard burn in hell for eternity.  And lastly, ignore the political bullshit posturing of any elected official who tries to score political points off of this tragedy(guilty as charge Harry Reid)...BUT PLEASE REMEMBER THEIR NAMES SO YOU CAN  VOTE AGAINST THEM NEXT TIME AROUND....the real story here is the guts and courage of those dedicated to helping the affected, and the struggles and heart they will show and have shown thus far in the face of the unspeakable circumstances.

I recent situation brought to my attention got me thinking.  Everybody thinks their better than somebody......the East side of town looks down on the West side....the weathly suburbanites look down on the city folk.....the city folk think the suburbanites are stuck up.......all non-country bumpkins look down on the bumpkins....the bumpkins think their pretty shit hot compared to folks that are really, really, really rural......the ultra rich feel superior to the wealthy...the middle class thinks their better than the poor.......on and on...you get the point.  Does anyone ever stop to think why this is the case?  I know a young person on the edge of adulthood who is really struggling with some of these issues and it really got me thinking.....I see where the person is coming from.  Who really has the right to look down on this person?  AND WHY?  Is it money?  Is it a beemer versus and  economy car?  My question is why are we humans like this......after all, we're all made of the same flesh and blood, we all put our pants on the same way....(at least I think Trump uses the same technique as someone struggling financially) and most importantly.......WE CAN't TAKE ANY OF THESE MATERIAL THINGS WITH US WHEN OUR TIME HERE HAS PASSED......Is it mainly about a giant ego trip for people?....some feral need to fill a gap in our humanity by finding somone to look down on?......Just curious.......

One thing that's increasingly irritated me for about the last 4 years are all of the Viagra, Levitra ect...ads on TV that openly discuss sex and "4 hour erections".  Ever been watching with your 10 year old niece in the room?  Or perhaps 8 year old nephew?   Or any kid that doesn't need to be seeing ads like that?  It's a little awkward.  What kind of discussions does this spur for little Jimmy and his buddies or young Sally and her girlfriends at a sleepover?

  Where do these drug companies get off putting those adds out at family viewing time and where do the networks who accept the add money get off approving it?  Oh wait, could it possible be all about the money(as opposed to right and wrong) IN THE SHALLOW END OF THE POOL?  Could this having something to do with young kids "bringing sexy back" at a younger and younger age?  Could the national circus sourounding our friendlyneightborhood ex-President Clinton's horrific decision to play cigar and popsicle games with a 23....yes, 23 year old intern that he had lots of control and influence over have anything to do with it?   Could the fact that Mom is just as likely these days to have to work to support our lifestyles versus nurturing and raising a child at home(at least until 5) have anything to do with it?
